Zen Acupressure Mat & Pillow Set
Zen Acupressure Mat & Pillow Set
This complete set includes an acupressure mat and pillow inside a colour-matching bag. The Lotus set is ideal for first-time users as the spikes feel a little gentler than The Guru set. However, if you are one for intense sensations, then The Guru set is meant to be for you.
Pillow ($39) and Mat ($69) are also available for single purchase.
All fabric is 100% cotton with a natural eco-foam inner. The spikes are made from ABS (the same durable material used for Lego blocks), which will not become blunt with regular use. All dyes are Amine-free. No child labour is used in the making of any of The Zen Division Acupressure Sets.

What to Expect from the Experience and How it Works
People report both short-term effects over the course of one session, and longer-term benefits when used frequently over a period of weeks. The more you use your Zen mat, the more comfortable the experience will become, and the more benefits you will notice.
When acupressure points around your body are stimulated (by the spikes), they release muscular tension, promote circulation of blood, and trigger the body’s innate healing mechanisms.
You may experience an intense tingling, or other strong sensation during the first few minutes of use before full relaxation is reached. This is completely normal. After around five minutes, blood circulation will begin to increase, followed by a release of endorphins. These hormones are produced by the central nervous system and pituitary gland, and have several different functions. One of these functions is the activation of the body's opiate receptors, our natural painkillers, known for inducing a mildly euphoric feeling.
As your body begins to relax, it will move from the adrenaline-driven “fight and flight” of the sympathetic nervous system (SNS), to the relaxed “rest, digest and repair” state of the parasympathetic (PNS) nervous system.
As your body awareness increases with more frequent use, you will begin to notice the point when the muscles begin relaxing. At this moment, inhale fully, and pause for a moment before exhaling completely. Allow the tension to be released from your muscles. Now experience that sweet sense of calmness coming over the body and mind. Remember to keep well hydrated to help flush out any toxins that may be released during a session.
